Holiday
Cottages suitable for cycling parties wanting to cycle the Tour De
France Yorkshire Leg.
In
2012 God Save the Queen rang out over the Champs-Élysées
as Bradley Wiggins was declared the new king of France. That or he
had won a bike race, my pre Olympics memories are as fuzzy as the
great man's side burns.
In
2014 the opening stages of the Tour de France, The Grand Depart will
be held, where else but beautiful Yorkshire.
On
Saturday the 5th of July and Sunday the 6th of
July 2014 the worlds best cyclists will race for just under 400km
between Leeds and Harrogate and then York to Sheffield taking in the
best of the Yorkshire countryside including the Yorkshire Dales and
its picturesque and historic market towns.
At
High Grange Self Catering Holiday Cottages we were pretty pleased
about this, already popular with cyclists the cottages are located
between the two start points so we can provide ideal accommodation
for cyclists looking to ride one or both of the Yorkshire legs of
the Tour De France, le Grand Depart.
The
cottages are located in countryside ideally suited for some warm up
rides through some stunning scenery prior to tackling the main event
of the 2014 Tour de France course. The cottages offer great group
accommodation, the Farmhouse
sleeps eleven and there's even a small sauna to help with the
recovery of any weary muscles. Alternatively renting two or three of
the smaller cottages can be a better option for some groups, all but
one of our cottages are located around a small courtyard and all have
good spaces where you can relax and dine together.
Cycles
can be stored free of charge by arrangement in our barn or you can
arrange to hire bikes through one of the many local companies based
out of York/Leeds/Harrogate. Also bikes can be carried free
of charge in the guards van on the Wensleydale railway if you
pre-arrange.
